On November 19, 2011, at UFC 139, dos Anjos faced Gleison Tibau. A split decision defeated him.

On May 15, 2012, dos Anjos faced Kamal Shalorus at UFC on Fuel TV: The Korean Zombie vs. Poirier.

Dos Anjos submitted Shalorus through a rear-naked choke in the first round after dropping him with a head kick.
