Parsons’ mother passed away when he was 16 years old which had a profound effect on him emotionally; it also caused him to drop out of high school shortly after her death so that he could pursue music full-time instead of attending classes every day. It wasn’t long until word spread about this talented young musician who had dropped out of school; soon enough record labels were offering him contracts left right and center but none of them seemed quite right for him so instead he decided to attend Harvard University on a partial scholarship instead where he studied English Literature while also continuing to play music with various bands throughout college life.
